Good morning,
I have a student at ICC who is currently homeless. From my understanding, he is currently on a PHA waiting list. Are there any other resources/services available that my student can access right now?

Maybe have him try Peoria Rescue Ministry.

Here is another thing I just read that was posted previously also.....
Children's home has a program that helps 18-21 year olds who are homeless or at risk of being homeless with housing, rent, deposit, utilities, bus passes, food, and other needs. To make a referral, call Barry Ufheil at 309.687.7515 or call children's home at 309.687.1047

Thank you so much for the responses. I am going to check with Peoria Rescue Ministry this morning. The Children's home program sounds great as well, but unfortunately my student is older than the aforementioned age criteria.

I'm not sure if this would be a correct resource but maybe they can give some insight also. The program is Open Door and the contact number is 686-3750.

It also looks like Friendship House may have some sort of assistance:
The only funding available until July 2015 is the following:
1. Utility assistance (energy and water)-must have a disconnect notice
2. Deposit/1st month rent- must be relocating and no lease is signed
3. Homeless-must be homeless-residing in shelter and/or on street and be able to certify through the shelter etc.
It's somewhat vague, but it may be worth checking into.
