One of our participants had a house fire last night. (the one on Jefferson St.) Red Cross has set them up in a hotel for 3 days. They say their immediate needs are housing and clothing. I'm not sure about sizes just yet. She had just received her cash on the 3rd and paid the landlord so she has no more money. I am going to send her to DHS for help yet that is $250 and I am going to reach out to about three agencies to help with house hold and clothing donations. Therefore, any direction about the housing issue?

I would see if the St. Vincent DePaul Society could help. Their number, through Catholic Charities, is 677-7696. Perhaps they can help w/ a deposit towards a new place. Does the landlord have other properties he/she is willing to rent out to this family? Perhaps wave a first month's rent (since they just paid rent for November)?
