I have a participant that lives at Riverwest in HUD subsidized apartments. She has had continual threats from a neighbor, the neighbors boyfriend and their families. This "boyfriend" is supposedly on the sexual offender list yet their are children everywhere. She has gone to the property manager and has requested to be move but they say there isn't any apartments available right now. She don't have the funds to pay for a security deposit if they would move her along with first months rent. She just signed a new lease also. This trouble has been going on since right before school started. Due to having no physical proof of the harrassement, the police will not do anything due to it would be on "hearsay". HUD told her she needs to go talk to the landlord. She is frustrated at this point with all the harrassment due to just trying to avoid the girl and her issues. The neighbor "boyfriend" is claimed to be a gangster and supposedly the two and their families moved here from Chicago years back due to gangster stuff.
The neighbor has been moved before due to not getting along with others. Supposedly the families don't fight, they shoot.
Does anyone have any advice that I can give to this participant?
