Sorry to not get to this yesterday, Jess. We had our annual golf outing fundraiser and I was out all day. I wish there was a way the forum to let people know when you're out... Anyway, Community Action Agency (671-3900)is always the best go-to for LiHeap money in Peoria County. If a person is disabled, they can call on Sept. 4th to get an appt. for help. If not disabled, the first available appt. is October 23rd. In Tazewell/Woodford Counties Tazwood Community Services (266-9941) provides utility assistance. If you are over 60 or disabled you may call in Sept. to make an appt. The worker I talked to wasn't sure of their call-in dates yet. Then in October, they will begin helping families if there is a child under the age of 6 in the house. In Nov. LiHeap will be open to all who qualify financially.
