Does anyone know what programs/resources are available for adults wanting to earn their GED?

Common Place has a program and they do orientation once a month. It use to be a person can only miss so many sessions and then they are out for a year. I'm not sure if that is still how things work or not. You can call ICC to see where all they have sights and I do believe a person has to enroll through ICC. The place I have been sending people is Moonlight Coalition for Adult Learning. Hedy is the contact person (256-7436) What I really like about her program is a person calls and she informs them when to show up yet they do not get dismissed if they miss any time. She also does a cap and gown graduation ceremony twice a year. Don't take all her spots though, I still need some.

I hadn't heard of the Moonlight Coalition, Dawn. Thanks for the contact number! (Will try not to take up all your spots :-)!

You are welcome ladies. I love when those that need a GED realize it and then even more so, they decide to attempt to do something about it. The last I knew, Hedy said she was going to have 25 graduating in July. If you are interested, you can look up Moonlight Coalition on Face Book.

This is such a good resource, Dawn. I wrote it in my planner so I can pass on the info when meeting w/ clients. Do you know who fund the Moonlight Coalition?

The Moonlight Coalition is funded by LISC, a grant from the Department of Justice and many private donations. Hedy has many years of experience and it sounds like many great successes in getting participants to accomplish that GED goal.
